AW22 COLLECTION - THE COLOUR INSPIRATIONS
The theme transitional states allowed us to look at the change in seasons more closely. As the seasons change the hues the eye perceives changes too. Scientist Dr Lauren Welbourne explains that the eye has to make adjustments in Summer as we see far more foliage than during Autumn or Winter. We examined this colour change and how softening those colours can bring calm and serenity throughout the season. To this effect we produced a colour palette of greens, blues, browns and yellows
When selecting images that inspire us we always start with sports and then expand out. Many of the images that have colour references this season start life in sport and expand outwardly. We imagine the the pitch as it was used throughout the season and the weather batters it further going into Autumn for the colour green. Looking at signage above pubs for our blues and darker tones from the night sky.
