Transitional States - Autumn / Winter 2022
As the summer season ends and the autumnal colours start to set in, one of the last remaining views is that of our name's sake the Admiral butterfly. The process of change from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly are periods known as Transitional States.
As we designed our AW22 collection, we were very much in a Transitional State of our own, moving from lockdown back into the outside world. It was this that focused our mind on the collection.
Our new Autumn / Winter 22 collection continues to focus on archival military and sporting pieces that offer comfort and stability whilst the world goes through its very own Transitional State.
THE ADMIRAL BUTTERFLY
Papillion is a story of freedom, a journey from incarceration to the outside world starring the King of Cool Steve McQueen, a continuous style reference point for many ASGco. collections.
Papillion garnered this nickname due to the butterfly tattooed in the centre of his chest. It is this image that is referenced in the Admiral Butterfly graphic tee.
TRANSITION IN SPORT
The phase Transitional States can be found in many areas of life including that of sport. The moment a team loses possession having to alter their state from attack to defence is known as a Transitional State. It is this term used in football that we used to develop a new graphic tee collection.
